All COE databases require Filemaker Pro Version 5.0 or newer. Each is password protected and requires access approval by your department business manager. None of these databases are available from off-campus locations. Your network administrator, Mary Harrsch, is a Filemaker Pro instructor and can answer questions about using the college's three Filemaker Pro databases.

COE Student Information System: Launch Filemaker Pro and select File -> Open Remote and open the file "Student." If you don't see COEDB and its open files in the host list click on "Specify Host", enter "coedb" and click "OK". This database is used to manage student progress and prepare billings for practicum experiences.

Grants Management Database: Launch Filemaker Pro and select File -> Open Remote and open the file "Grantlst." This database is used to manage grant proposal submissions, budgeting, personnel appointments and proposal approval requests.

Personnel Database: Launch Filemaker Pro and select File -> Open Remote and open the file "Personnel." This database is used for contact information and salary analyses.

University Databases

Banner: The university's Banner database is based on Oracle. Special software must be installed before the system can be accessed. System access must also be approved by the Office of the Registrar by submitting an access request form signed by your department head.

A data warehouse has been built for each Banner system to provide UO staff with a flexible way of querying and reporting system data. The UO Datawarehouses are accessed with Hummingbird's BI/Query software. Datawarehouse access must be approved by the Office of the Registrar by submitting a separate access request form signed by your department head.
