Get together with a friend and answer the following questions. Compare and contrast your answers. Did you agree on some questions and not others? Why was this? What can you learn about listening when you compare your answers with those of a friend? 

1. Some kids live in cities, some in the country, and others in very different soundscapes such as the rain forest. What sounds do you hear when you are outside playing or on your way to school?

2. Name some sounds in nature you like to hear and tell why you enjoy listening to them?

3. Are there sounds which upset you or you wish you could make go away? If so, what are those sounds and why do they bother you?

4. If you like to make sounds yourself what kinds of sounds are they? For example, do you like to sing, hum, whistle, play an instrument, or make other kimds of sounds?

5. What is your most favorite sound in the world around you?
